The UDC School of Computer Science [link to news] is hosting the International Software Product Line Conference (SPLC 2025) this week. This international conference will bring together over 60 specialists from different countries to analyze software product lines and their applications from different perspectives, thus promoting research and industrial application of software product lines, a key approach to developing complex systems.
Over the five days, the program includes lectures on such topical fields as how artificial intelligence can help design and improve complex computer systems, how to optimize their performance, and how to more easily adapt to different needs.
Application examples will also be presented in a wide variety of fields, from smart agriculture to digital marketing and the automotive industry, demonstrating the impact these technologies are already having on key sectors of our economy.
The scientific program includes 46 contributions, distributed among research presentations, industrial application cases, previously published relevant articles, the doctoral symposium, demonstration and tool sessions, tutorials, and specialized workshops.
A Coruña takes over from Luxembourg, the host of the last edition of this international event, which emerged from the merger of two previous events: the SPLC (which began in 2000 in the United States) and Product Family Engineering (PFE, which began in 1996 in Europe). This way, researchers and teaching staff, as well as manufacturers and designers, analyze software and product lines from different perspectives at a single event.
