This course aims to enrich the University of A Coruña's (UDC) training offerings in maritime studies, as well as to broaden and deepen a line of action in the field of teaching, research, information, and dissemination of studies related to seas and oceans and their impact on Galicia, from an international and European Union perspective. This work has been carried out by the University Institute of European Studies "Salvador de Madariaga" at the UDC since 1997.

 

This fifth edition of the course, organized within the framework of the Jean Monnet Chair "European Union Law of the Oceans: New Maritime Legal Scenarios", co-financed by the European Union, and in collaboration with MarlnnLeg (MarlnnLeg Foundation - Center for Innovation in Maritime and Fisheries Legal Studies) in Vigo, offers specialized training in maritime studies. The objective is to bring the current state of the seas and oceans closer to those interested in the maritime world from diverse perspectives, focusing on their responsible and sustainable use. This initiative aims to offer an interdisciplinary perspective on the multiple realities behind maritime activities.

 

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students from Spanish and international universities; managers and technicians from public and private institutions related to the sea; professionals without a university degree who meet the legal requirements to pursue university studies; and members of civil society.*

_{*UDC students may be awarded 3 credits in their undergraduate studies for their participation in this university extension course, in accordance with the Rector's Resolution of 17/05/2023, provided that they attend 85% of the total hours of the course.}
