The “Strategic and Organizational Communication” section of the Spanish Association for Communication Research (AEIC) organizes the First International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence that will bring together members of the academic community, professionals from the communication and marketing sector, and experts in the development of AI technological solutions for communication management.
Under the title Challenges and Opportunities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Corporate and Institutional Communication, this meeting seeks to gather contributions that promote interdisciplinary dialogue and the exchange of ideas around the implications of AI in the field of organizational communication . In a context in which AI-based technologies are profoundly transforming communication processes, both internally and externally, numerous challenges and opportunities arise for organizations, institutions and the public sector.
The objective of the symposium is to critically analyze how AI is reconfiguring the dynamics of corporate and institutional communication, as well as its effects on ethical and privacy values, transparency, new forms of interaction and social responsibility.
In this sense, the adoption of AI in the field of communication raises fundamental questions about the automation of processes, the personalization of messages and the management of large volumes of data. For organizations, it is essential to find a balance between efficiency and automation, while maintaining authentic and humanized communication. Furthermore, in an environment where AI can both drive innovation and increase risks related to privacy and information manipulation, it is crucial to reflect on the limits and regulatory frameworks necessary to ensure ethical and responsible communication.
The congress will also address the impact of AI on strategic decision-making, audience analysis and crisis management, offering new tools to anticipate trends and personalize communication experiences. However, these opportunities must be examined with attention to the possible threats that mass automation may pose to employment, the diversity of voices and the quality of social dialogue.
Therefore, this event aims to explore both the benefits and risks of AI in communication, promoting a discussion that considers technological, ethical, legal and social aspects. It is expected to receive contributions that address AI from a critical perspective, presenting case studies, empirical research and theoretical reflections that illuminate the future of corporate and institutional communication in the era of artificial intelligence.
